Common questions about email marketing.

Do I need an existing email list to get started?
Not at all. If you’ve got one, great — we’ll clean it, segment it, and start sending to it. If you don’t, we’ll help you build one from scratch using signup forms on your website, a lead magnet, and any existing customer data you want to import (as long as it’s compliant). Most local businesses have more of a list than they realise — old customers, past enquiries, website signups — it just needs pulling together.
What email platform do you use?
Whichever one you’re already on, or whichever one suits your business best if you’re starting fresh. We work with Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), MailerLite, and Campaign Monitor, among others. We’re not tied to a single provider. If you’re unsure what to use, we’ll recommend one based on your list size, budget, and what you want to do with it.
How often will you send emails for me?
It depends on your business and what your customers expect. Most clients land on a monthly or fortnightly newsletter plus a handful of seasonal or promotional campaigns on top. We’ll agree the cadence during onboarding and adjust as we see what’s working. More isn’t always better — relevant and consistent beats frequent and forgettable.
Who writes the actual content — you or me?
We do. That’s the whole point. You’re too busy running the business to sit down and write a newsletter every month. We write everything, share it with you for review, and make any tweaks before it goes out. If you’d rather write it yourself and just have us design and send, we can do that too, but the full done-for-you version is what most clients prefer.
What about GDPR and unsubscribes?
We only send to subscribers who’ve opted in (or who you have a legitimate basis to contact), every email includes a clear unsubscribe link, and we keep your list clean so you’re not emailing people who don’t want to hear from you. All the compliance bits are handled properly so you don’t have to worry about them.
Can you help grow my email list too?
Yes. List growth is part of the service. We’ll add signup forms to your website, build lead magnets (free guides, checklists, discount codes) to encourage signups, and help you capture email addresses at the right moments — after a purchase, on your contact page, at the end of a blog post. Growing a list is slow and steady rather than overnight, but over time it adds up fast.
How is this different from me just doing it in Mailchimp myself?
Nothing, if you’ve genuinely got the time and inclination to do it properly every month. The reality is most business owners don’t. They start well, send two or three newsletters, and then life gets in the way. The list goes cold and the whole channel dies. This service exists because email only works if it’s consistent — and the easiest way to make it consistent is to have someone else do it.
