Cold Email Outreach · B2B
Outbound lead generation that starts conversations with the businesses you want to win.
We go out and find the right businesses for you: short, plain cold emails to the person who decides at each business, with every reply passed straight to you. Businesses and organisations only, within UK law.
Outbound lead generation for B2B firms that want more conversations.
Our cold email services suit B2B firms with a clear type of customer. You know the kind of company you want to work with, and who in it makes the decision. Referrals are great, but you can’t order more of them.
Outbound lead generation means going out to those businesses instead of waiting for them to find you. Done badly, cold email is spam. Done properly, it’s a short, relevant note to the right person, and it gets replies. We do the work and you have the conversations, so it’s outsourced lead generation without hiring a salesperson.
It’s also the system we use to find our own clients.
- Businesses and organisations only
- The businesses you choose
- Replies passed to you
- Within UK law
How our cold email outreach works.
The right businesses and the right person
We agree with you what a good customer looks like, and who in the business makes the decision. Then we build the list from public sources, or start from contacts you already have. Every address is checked before anything is sent, so the emails go to addresses that work.
Separate inboxes, warmed up first
The emails go out in your name, but from separate inboxes on a second domain name set up just for outreach. We warm them up before the first campaign, with a few weeks of small, steady sending, so email providers learn to trust them. Your main email address is never used, so its reputation is kept out of it.
Short, plain emails to one person
Each email is short and plain, written to one person about their business, not a newsletter sent to a list. A sequence is a few emails over a few weeks.
Every reply comes to you
Replies are passed straight to you, so you’re the one having the conversation. We keep an eye on them too, so nothing gets missed. Anyone interested can book a call with you there and then.
A report every month
A plain-English report on the replies, the interested replies and the calls booked, so you can see what the outreach is bringing in.
Cold email that stays within UK law.
B2B cold email is allowed in the UK when it’s done properly. The rules on marketing emails, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, let you email organisations such as limited companies, LLPs and public bodies without asking first, as long as you say who you are and give an easy way to opt out.
So we only email organisations, never sole traders or the public. Every email says who it’s from and has an easy way to opt out, and every opt-out is honoured.
UK GDPR applies too, because a work email address with someone’s name in it is personal data. Anyone who asks to stop goes on a do-not-contact list and isn’t contacted again. The ICO, the UK’s data regulator, sets out the rules in its guidance on business-to-business marketing.
- Organisations, never sole traders
- An easy opt-out in every email
- Every opt-out honoured
Outbound lead generation sits with the work that reaches new people. Cold email starts the conversation, and your website has to back it up. People who finish a sequence without saying no can join your email list, as they do for Workplace Mindfulness. For enquiries that come to you instead, see lead generation.
From none in May to one in ten of all their leads by July.
For Workplace Mindfulness, cold outreach runs alongside the rest of the marketing we do for them, and the emails go out in Jamie’s name. Within three months, cold outreach went from bringing in nothing to about one in ten of all their leads, guide downloads and enquiries together.
“Really great experience working with Matt. … Super easy to work with and delivered exactly what he said he would. Would definitely recommend.”Jamie Douglas
